The Issues Paper: Thesis

My Issues Paper is going to be about adopted children into families that already have children, so here is the thesis:

Although most people would not argue that adoption is good for the children being adopted, there are a lot of potential effects for children that are adopted into families that already have blood-born children because the adoptees might feel like outsiders and alienated in the family.

  1. Yes they might feel like outsiders, but what is the alternative that they have? Adoption is a blessing in my book and gives kids the chance at a normal life that they otherwise wouldn't have had.

  2. I agree that adoption is usually more a blessing than a curse, but I am curious about this topic. Have you been able to find sources for it?

  3. is this as opposed to adopting children into families that don't already have kids? Because I think that if the family doesn't do well enough to make the child know he/she belongs 100% they're going to feel like an outsider on just the fact that they are adopted period.

  4. I agree that there might be effects from the children that are adopted, however, it cannot be worse than if the child stayed in the adoption agency for its whole life.

  6. Well, I decided not to even do this topic after all! Haha! I do like all of your comments, though. I've always been interested in the topic of adoption, so your insights are all really neat. Thanks!
